Amanda Qualls is an at large member of the Goshen Community Schools Board of Education. She also serves as the chair of the Maple City Market board and the secretary of the Goshen Sister Cities program.

Amanda is a lifelong resident of Elkhart county, attending Goshen Schools from kindergarten through her graduation from Goshen High School in 2006. After earning her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame, she went on to pursue her Master of Library Science from Indiana University. In 2012, Amanda and her husband returned to the area, moving into the home her great grandparents had occupied since the 1960s. Amanda has been married to her husband, Courtney Collins, since 2010. Amanda’s stepson, Bradyn, attends Northridge High School in Middlebury.

Amanda has worked in mission-driven organizations throughout her career. Most recently, she served as Human Resources Director for Pete Buttigieg’s presidential campaign. Prior to joining Pete for America, Amanda was the Director of Human Resources at Ballotpedia, a nonprofit organization that strives to connect people to politics, offering unbiased information on Congress, courts, ballot measures, school boards, state legislatures and more. Amanda has also worked in libraries, museums, higher education, and the publishing industry.

Why Now

Amanda is building a winning Democratic campaign to turn District 49 blue. This district has been uncontested since 2006, but the time is right for new leadership. From education to healthcare to the environment, Indiana needs new perspectives, and Amanda is seeking to represent those at the statehouse.
